Commonly affected areas are the scalp, sides of the nose, eyebrows, skin around the ears, and mid-thoracic region, while the navel, armpits, breasts, groin, and intergluteal fold are more rarely affected. Regardless of specifics, these skin areas have a commonality in that they all have a high concentration of sebaceous (sebum-producing) glands.<br \/>\nSeborrheic dermatitis will vary in appearance depending on its location, the most common of which are shown in accompanying images.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On the center of the face<\/strong><br \/>\nCauses redness and flaking across the cheekbones in a butterfly pattern.<\/li>\n<li><strong> On the ear <\/strong><br \/>\nCauses itching and flaking of the ear canal. May be accompanied with the reddening of the fold behind the ear.<\/li>\n<li><strong> On the eyebrows and eyelashes <\/strong><br \/>\nCauses flaking or crustiness attached to the hairs of the eyebrows or eyelashes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On the chest <\/strong><br \/>\nCauses the formation of rounded patches at the presternal or interscapular sites.<\/li>\n<li><strong> On the genital area <\/strong><br \/>\nCauses flaking, redness and itching on the pubis and external genitalia.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In the axillary, inguinal, or intergluteal folds <\/strong><br \/>\n Causes severe redness and burning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On the scalp <\/strong><br \/>\nCauses flaking, redness and itching on the edge of, or throughout the hairline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;653&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_cause_of_seborrheic_dermatitis\"><\/span><b>What is the cause of seborrheic dermatitis?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]No precise cause of seborrheic dermatitis is known, however, it is thought to be due to a skin instability similar to that of psoriasis, with which it is often associated.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_seborrheic_dermatitis_be_prevented\"><\/span><b>Can seborrheic dermatitis be prevented?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Seborrheic Dermatitis cannot be prevented, but it can be controlled. Indeed, there is no way to permanently prevent or resolve seborrheic dermatitis, but it can be managed with proper treatment.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_it_be_linked_to_other_illnesses\"><\/span><b>Can it be linked to other illnesses?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Seborrheic dermatitis is not usually linked to other illnesses, although individuals with immunologic disorders seem to be more susceptible to developing it.<br \/>\nPhysical and\/or psychological stress can trigger or worsen seborrheic dermatitis.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DermaClub_suggests_non-pharmacological_treatments_to_control_seborrheic_dermatitis\"><\/span><b>DermaClub suggests: non-pharmacological treatments to control seborrheic dermatitis<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>DermaClub&#8217;s treatment<\/strong><br \/>\nSeborrheic dermatitis responds well to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mostskincare.com\/negozio\/linea-prodotti-dermatologica\/crema-2s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2S Cream<\/a><\/strong> with sulfur and salicylic acid. These natural active ingredients both regress the dermatitis and prevent its recurrence, and can be used for a prolonged period of time without side effects. Being evanescent and vaseline-free, 2S Cream can also be applied directly to the scalp. This means that the individual is forced to use it continuously in order to keep the seborrheic dermatitis at bay, however, this continuous use of cortisone can lead to irreversible skin damage.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_it_true_that_washing_should_be_reduced\"><\/span>Is it true that washing should be reduced?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Areas affected by seborrheic dermatitis are aggravated with the use of generic soaps and detergents.
