Micropeeling to Treat Acne
07/09/2023Micropeeling acts as a skin stimulant within what is known as Regenerative Dermatology.
Micropeeling is distinct from peeling. Peels use strong acids that break down the epidermis in an attempt to induce regeneration capable of repairing imperfections such as scars, dark spots, sagging skin and other issues.
Peels using strong acids are no longer commonly used because they cause non-selective damage; for example, they destroy not only the cells that make up the epidermis – the keratinocytes – but also the melanocytes, immune cells and nerve cells present within the epidermis.
In fact, after repeated chemical peels using strong acids, the skin undergoes premature and irreversible ageing.
Micro-peeling, on the other hand, uses low-concentration acids that act only on the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the epidermis consisting of keratinous lamellae without a nucleus. In this way, living cells are not damaged.
The process of desquamation, which is often imperceptible, causes around 10 billion corneal lamellae to be shed from our bodies every day; these lamellae must be replaced.
It was realised many years ago that artificially accelerating the desquamation process forces epidermal cells to proliferate and renew themselves.
As renewing cells require more nourishment, blood circulation in the skin is also positively affected, ultimately leading to an improvement in both the skin’s texture and its firmness and radiance.

How to micropeel with Glicosal Lotion
Micropeeling is a simple technique that can be adapted to suit individual needs.
It is carried out in the evening before going to bed. Once make-up has been removed and the face has been washed and thoroughly dried, rub Glicosal lotion all over the face, avoiding the eyelids (but including the eye contour area).
Glicosal lotion contains two natural exfoliating acids, glycolic acid and salicylic acid, which together accelerate the skin’s natural shedding process: the micro-peeling effect.
In practice, you apply 7 to 10 drops of Glicosal Lotion to a compressed cotton make-up removal pad and then rub the pad over your face in a circular motion, going over the area again and again until the pad has dried out and needs to be discarded.
You don’t rinse it out, you don’t apply any product, and you go to bed.
The following morning, rinse your face with water only, without using any cleanser.
How to adapt micropeeling
The Micropeeling treatment can be adjusted according to the sensitivity of the individual’s skin simply by using more or fewer drops of Micropeeling lotion. Generally, 7 to 10 drops are used, but this can be reduced or increased depending on skin type. During the treatment, the skin must never become red or itchy.
The Micropeeling treatment is carried out every evening, but in cases of skin hypersensitivity, it can also be carried out every other evening or one evening on, two off.
Micropeeling with Night Renewal Cream
Micro-peeling is a simple technique that can be adapted to suit individual needs.
It is carried out in the evening before going to bed. Once make-up has been removed and the face has been washed and thoroughly dried, massage the Night Renewal Cream into the entire face, including the eye area, but avoiding the eyelids.
Night Renewal Cream contains two natural exfoliating acids – glycolic acid and salicylic acid – which together accelerate the skin’s natural shedding process: the micro-peeling effect.
In practice, apply one, or at most two, pumps of Active Night Cream from the airless bottle to the face and massage gently until fully absorbed.
Don’t apply any other products and go to bed.
The following morning, rinse your face with lukewarm water only. Do not apply any other creams or cream-based make-up.
How to wash or remove make-up
During the Micro Peeling treatment, you must not use make-up creams (foundation) or blush. This is because these products contain fats or lipids of various origins which clog the skin as they are absorbed, thereby neutralising the action of the Micro Peeling lotion.
For those who are used to wearing make-up in the morning, DermaClub has developed and produced an oil-free concealer that does not absorb into the skin and therefore does not inhibit the Micro Peeling action. The product is called Argillina Skin Color and is available in neutral and golden shades. It is applied like a standard foundation and removed during your evening cleansing routine.
For those who prefer mineral powder make-up, Sun Clay can be applied, also available in neutral or golden shades. This product also provides protection against sunlight.
The two products mentioned can also be used in combination with one another
Make-up
Cleansing and removing makeup from the face should be done before applying micropeeling in the evening. It is recommended to use Eudermic Cleansing Base for this step. This product can cleanse and remove makeup like a regular cleanser or soap, but without drying the skin. This step is important because micropeeling tends to dry out the skin, so strong cleansers, cleansing milks, or micellar water should be avoided.
Avoid creams, serums and sunscreens
Many women are in the habit of applying various types of creams or serums in the belief that this will keep their skin soft and delay the formation of wrinkles and the signs of ageing. However, no cosmetic product, be it a cream or a serum, actually possesses these properties; on the contrary, applying this type of cosmetic introduces many chemical substances (emulsifiers, stabilisers, thickeners, preservatives, etc.) into the skin, which must first be processed by the skin’s cells and then eliminated. This places an enormous burden on the skin, resulting in premature ageing and the early appearance of dark spots and wrinkles. However, if you wish to moisturise the skin during the Micro-peel, you may apply the Extreme Emollient Ointment. This particular ointment has been formulated with glycerine polymers and isoparaffins, all of which are ingredients that do not penetrate the skin as they are large molecules. This ointment contains no water, emulsifiers or preservatives.
Sun creams, which are usually very greasy, should be avoided altogether; for sun protection, use Sun Clay.
Apply it in the morning if your face feels dry and this is causing discomfort. Apply a small amount and massage thoroughly until absorbed.
You can also dilute it with a few drops of water to make it easier to apply.
How long to do the Micropeeling
Micropeeling using Glicosal lotion or Night Renewal Cream has no time limit and can be carried out for years on end to keep the skin on your face looking its best.
What results are achieved with Micropeeling
By doing away with creams, sunscreens, serums and cream make-up and ‘working’ the skin of the face with Micropeeling, one achieves greater skin firmness, increased radiance, disappearance of microcysts or blackheads, lightening of existing spots, prevention of sunspots, and delaying the appearance of wrinkles.
